rodeo conv.

Postby 93zuzu89 on Mon Feb 11, 2008 3:56 pm

i've seen all these pups with rodeo front end conversions and i was wondering...do they fit pups perfectly without any modification? if not, what all do you have to do to get the lights and grille to fit?

also can you use the stock isuzu pup corner lights on the rodeo conversion?

thanks.

you gotta wire in the rodeo conector to get the lights to work (piece of cake) but other than that its a direct fit even the corners will fit with the rodeo....now i put the rodeo headlight bucket in with the lights but you might be able to use the stock one not 100% on that

i just put the rodeo front end on my 92 just had to buy plugs from auto zone that fit a 9004 head light just check power on the wires to see which wire is high and low it is simple. idk about the 93 but i had to machine spacers to make the head lights fit properly. and other than that just cut a few new holes for grill then it was done

all you gotta do is cut out the connector from the rodeo and wire right in the same wires its just a different connector so it will clip into the headlamp

so all i have to do in order for them to fit is cut the wires on my p'up headlight and wire them to the rodeo ones?

and does the assembly bolt up to the p'up radiator support?

Some of them came with the threaded holes in the radiator support and some didnt. My 92 had them but the 93 didnt. I just lined them up with the hood closed and the corner lights in and marked the holes and drilled. Didnt need any spacers but i had to adjust them little.

it depended on where your truck was assembled. if it was a US built 4S Vin it had the the holes from 91-95. if it was a JAA Vin, it didnt no matter the year. there were a few odd balls that had them but rare. The reason the 4S Vins had them was that the rodeos were assembled in the US (4S... VIN) and the pups used the same rad support, one part cut costs down. as West said, just drill holes OR use self tappers...no spacer should be needed....did you cut an access hole for the adjuster on the outer side of the headlights???? that might be hitting the rad support causing it not to bolt on properly.
Wire can be a bitch, since its not straight forward, high low and ground. the wiring what i did was put spade connectors on each set off the 9004 plug and left the stock seal beam headlight plug there. just kept switching the wires around till it worked properly. you get feedback thru the switch and headlights, one high will work, the other will be dim, same with the low beam. ive done atleast a dozen of these swaps and the wiring is not straight plug and play. Its just the way the wiring is set up and the grounding system....

i'll check my vin to see if it is the "4S". i hope so. less work. haha. i wanna go ahead and throw these bad boys on but i don't have the grille yet so it'd be kinda stupid lookin for a while.
